SECOND SHOOT PHOTOS
These are some of the selected images that I took in my second photo shoot. From my previous shoot I realised that I needed to get more photos that met my criteria. I needed to add musicality to the images, and I tried to do this by using headphones and the different coloured filters. Due to my music genre being house, it made it difficult when trying to add musicality. This is because on the majority of music magazines artists are normally shot with their instruments, however in house music instruments are rarely used as music produced is done by mixing decks. As I did not have these, I needed to improvise and show the music genre the best way I could.
Front Page Images
After taking more images, I preferred the images more and wanted to use them as part of my front cover and double page spreads. Therefore, I changed my front cover by swapping over the image and changing the background. Due to the image being a different shape to the previous one, I needed to rearrange some of the subheadings and positioning of the page furniture to help compliment the image and make it look as professioanl as possible. Feedback from my target audeince also helped me do this and make improvements throughout.
Contents Page Images
When looking at images of this model in comparison to the other, the photos came across a lot more staged, this being something that I want to avoid. In addition to this, on some of the images there is a bright light reflection, and as a result, I decided not to use any of these within my magazine and focus on using the bright colours filters to engage and attract my target audience. However, I will still include an image that I took on the previous shoot as I like the way she is positioned and the way it is presented to the reader.
Double Page Spread Images
I much preferred these images in comparison to the ones in my first shoot, therefore decided to use these as for my double page spread. I wanted to choose images that engaged with the reader as well as related to a house magazine. When looking at the images, I really like the ones with the colour filters, I think they reflect the music genre perfectly and the use of headphones is a good way to incorporate musicality into my images. I also wanted to chose imaged where you could clearly see her eyes as the ones of her looking down are more disengaging.
